    Just found out that we can finally follow tags in !statusnet - so; yes I'm suddenly at loss to why we'd need groups :) Following #FOSDEM tag

      OK, tags in #statusnet is *really* spammy. All the spammers use it: e.g. #opera tag is useless, but !opera group is nice (same w #linux)

      A group is an address. A tag is not. That's the big difference.

      You can manage membership of a group. A group has extra identity -- full name, avatar, description.

      @velmont Posting to groups / viewing messages posted to groups is by people who join those groups (which isn't difficult to do).
